Luxury Tax of Luxury Car will be increase by year 2010

Indonesia government through Finance Ministry plan to increasing luxury tax of luxury car with large engine of 3,000 cc and above. This tax regulation will be held on year 2010 at least by April. This new regulation already sign off by Finance Ministry and Indonesian Parliament. However, this regulaton still must be created for government regulations that govern and instruct more details about it.
Currently, vehicle with engine 3,000 cc and above has luxury tax of 75% from vehicle landed cost. The highest of luxury tax making selling price of these cars become expensive. And in addition to the luxury tax is very high, the price of a vehicle is charged with a high import duty as well.
Meanwhile, new regulation determine luxury tax of vehicle with 3,000 cc and above are 200%. It’s fantastic! From 75% to 200%. Selling price of luxury car will be more expensive any more.
Of course this regulation makes some sole distributor/car maker worry about their sales volume, especially cars maker who selling luxury car, sport car and premium sedan that equipped by large engine. In this time, there are some luxury car in Indonesia auto market has engine 3,000 cc and above, i.e. Toyota Camry 3.5Q, Honda Accord 3.5, Toyota Alphard, Mazda CX-9, Lexus cars, Volvo cars, Volkswagen | VW cars, Audi cars, Mercedes cars, and BMW cars.
