By “Zoom-Zoom” spirit Mazda2 ready to launch on 25th November 2009 and will further enliven the national auto market, especially in Medium City Car segment. Mazda2 is newest city car from Japanese manufacturer that importer by PT. Mazda Motor Indonesia from Thailand factory.
Medium City Car segment that playing only by Toyota New Yaris, All New Honda Jazz, Suzuki Swift, Nissan Livina XR and Hyundai i20 will more attractive and competitive because of Mazda2 present since this new car will offer alternative choice to consumer. And will more crowd if the similar model of Mazda2 that Ford Fiesta will launch by next year.
Mazda2 has same engine with Ford Fiesta that 1,500 cc, 4-cylinder inline with Double Over Head Camshaft and 16-valve. Mazda2 engine has maximum power 103 HP/6,000 rpm and able to reaches maximum torque to 137 Nm/4000 rpm. Based on Mazda engineer testing this sport hatchback claimed the fuel consumption records 11.23 km / liter in city driving, 17.8 km / liter in outside of town, and a 14.7 km / liter in combination road condition.
If we look on exterior appearance, Mazda2 looks has more modern design, sporty and young taste. If we curious about the appearance of this new car, we can go to shopping center (mall) like Senayan City since PT. Mazda Motor Indonesia conduct promotion activities in some shopping center in Jakarta.
To attract the attention of mall visitors and prospective customers, Mazda2 comes in the form of a puzzle that shows only certain parts like the front bumper, rear bumper, tire and wheel, and side body separately.
Until now there has been no official information from Mazda about the selling price of their flagship city car. But the price is expected to compete with Toyota New Yaris is about 200 million rupiah.
