Honda Indonesia export 1,000 units Freed to Thailand

After exporting Honda Freed to Singapore and Brunei automobile market, PT. Honda Prospect Motor plan to deliver 1,000 units Freed to Thailand automobile market. This is the first largest export Honda Freed produced in Indonesia. Honda factory in Karawang – Indonesia is trusted by Honda to be the principal production base of this Honda MPV pride to the ASEAN region (Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippine, and others).

The car export of Honda Freed to Thailand is scheduled today, Monday, December 14, 2009. Freed produced in Karawang – West Java already has a local content to 45%. Local components to be placed in 1.5-liter MPV is among tires, glass, seats, and rubbers.
Since its launch in June 2009, Freed became an instant favorite car in Medium MPV segment. Even in the presence of comparatively short, in just 6 months, Honda Freed able to achieve 15% market share in the Medium MPV segment and compete with the Toyota Kijang Innova, Nissan Grand Livina and Proton Exora. Until November 2009, the volume of sales in this segment totaled approximately fifty thousand units sold while the Honda successful deliver 8,843 units Freed. In November alone, Freed successfully sold 1,141 units and entered into the list of best-selling passenger car in national auto market.
Freed in the Indonesian market is available in two variant of the Standard and Full Spec with only automatic transmission option, not the manual version is available. Freed is currently sold for Rp. 237 million (Standard) and Rp. 257 million for the full spec, or approximately USD 23.7K and USD 25.7K with exchange rate USD 1 = Rp.10,000. This Seven-Seater-Family-Car is available in six color choice that Brilliant White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Polished Metal Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Basque Red Pearl, and Luminous Blue Pearl.
In Thailand auto market, Freed recently launched on November 18, 2009 and entered in the class of Multi Use Van (MUV). However, the buyers will feel and enjoy the pleasant experience in driving with Freed in January 2010, waiting for shipment from Indonesia.
