Honda Freed contribute 22% to Honda Cars Sales in 2009

Honda Cars Sales books 39,570 units
Year 2009 was the year of Honda Freed. It’s phenomenal and fantastic. During seven months in year 2009 since firstly introduced on June, Honda Freed contributes more than 22% to total new car sales of Honda. Referring to wholesales data received by Indonesia-Cars.com that total sales of Honda cars in Indonesia from January to December 2009 books 39,570 units and 8,900 units of which are Honda Freed.
The number of sales is outside the number of units exported to Thailand and other ASEAN countries. Beside marketed to national auto market, Honda Freed that produced at Honda plant at Karawang – West Java is also exported to ASEAN country. In December 2009 alone, PT. Honda Prospect Motor has delivered 1,000 units of this seven-seater family car to Thailand.
Honda Freed Launch in Indonesia
In December alone, Honda Freed sold 417 units but monthly average sales of this family car is about 1,300 units within seven months. Meanwhile the biggest contributors to sales of Honda car is still remain by Honda All New Jazz. The compact hatchback or called as Medium City Car books 15,713 units sales throughout this year 2009. This high level of sales making Honda Jazz become the best selling product of Honda cars and contribute 40% to total sales.
Another product which is the biggest contributor to the Honda car sales in Indonesia is the Honda CRV. This beautiful SUV that a favorite of young families and young executives in urban areas, had 10,110 units sold during the year 2009. Honda CRV, the SUV with two engine options, 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter, sold Rp. 342 million to Rp. 379 million and makes it compete head to head with the Nissan X-Trail, Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Chevrolet Captiva and so far Honda CRV is the market leader in this High SUV 4X2 segment.
