Kia increase 20 percent in international auto

Kia increase 20 percent in international auto sales in year 2009

Kia Motors Corporation, the Korean car maker has announced that global sales figures for the year 2009 reached 1,651,920 units or 20 percent increased from last year sales. By this sales achievement, Kia Motors strengthen its position as one of the fast growing company in international auto market.

Meanwhile, the other Korean car maker, Hyundai Motors Corporation has succeed to sales three million unit in year 2009 or increase 11.6% from last year sales. So the Hyundai-Kia’s combined total to more than 4.75 million units sold in international auto market.

By region, Kia posted year-on-year rise in China with 256,732 unit’s sales or up 69.9% from last year. In Korea alone, Kia has books 412,752 units sales and up 30.4%. While, in North America sale 346,181 units or increase 11.3%, in Europe West has book 242,288 units or up 7.7%, and in general markets has books 304,522 units or up 16.2%. Kia’s best selling model in international auto markets is Forte C-segment with 304,295 units sold.

Hyundai and Kia are car brands that provide value for money developed in times of economic uncertainty. And they are succeed to improving the quality of their custom designs and added a long warranty and the purchase price lower.

But where these sales increases come from? At the expense of the other car brands on top, of course. For instance, Toyota has just released sales figures in 2009 which saw 13% drop to 7.81 million unit’s sales, while the Detroit giants: GM and Ford have been hurt by poor domestic performance.

These companies (Toyota, Ford and GM) also face challenges from Volkswagen who are motivated with 6.29 million unit’s sales in year 2009 or up 1.1%, which aims to shift the Toyota by year 2018. One of Volkswagen’s ambitious moves to shift the Toyota is by acquiring Suzuki and Porsche in end of year 2009.
