Chrysler Recall Thousands Jeeps and Minivans
Chrysler America is recalling about six hundred thousand units of its Jeep Wranglers and Minivans. The vehicles recall due the problems in brake system and wiring/electrical systems that could make safety issues. The cars recall state by the company and federal regulators in Monday, June 6, 2010. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration state that cars maker of Chrysler brand is recalling almost three thousand (300K) units of Jeep Wranglers that produced from year 2006 to year 2010 because a potential brake fluid leak in this SUV.
Chrysler also was recalling 285,000 units of Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans which 2008 and 2009 model years due to a problem in electrical wiring problem in sliding doors can cause a fire.
Neither problem has caused any accident or injuries, according to Chrysler Group release. While the front inner fender liners on the Jeep Wranglers can rub against the tubes of brake fluid and due to leakage. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the leak of brake system could lead to a partial brake loss.
Some of Chrysler minivans have improperly placed wires that can come into contact with hinges of sliding door. Chrysler and NHTSA said that could cut through the insulation and possible to cause a fire inside the sliding door. Chrysler wills info and reminding the car owners and dealers about the repairs, which will be made free of charge. The vehicle recall campaign is expected to start later June 2010. The Jeep Wranglers affected by the cars recall campaign were made start from May 2006 to August 2010. While the Chrysler minivans were made from month of February 2007 to September 2007.
