Peugeot Indonesia Launch New Car, the Peugeot 3008
PT. Astra International – Peugeot Sales Operation as the sole distributor of Peugeot cars in Indonesia has officially launched the Peugeot 3008 on Friday, July 2, 2010. The Peugeot 3008 is the first crossover from Peugeot which directly imported from French. Peugeot Indonesia is selling this new car with Rp 429.9 million.
Despite the car manufacturers recommended use of 95 RON fuel or Pertamax Plus, but this new car could consume an 88 RON fuel or Premium. Peugeot Indonesia state that technically it will not bring a significant impact, but engine power would probably be slightly reduced while the rest had no impact. According this fuel specification, the new car can be used anywhere even in areas with gas stations do not provide Pertamax and Pertamax Plus. Moreover, Peugeot Indonesia also provides routine maintenance up to five years for this new crossover.
The Peugeot 3008 equipped with the 1.6-litre engine EP6CDT Turbo, 16 valves VVT-VVL. The turbo engine is able to reach maximum power to 156 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 340 Nm of torque at 1400 rpm. The engine power is distributed to the wheels through a six-speed triptronic automatic transmission.
A number of active safety features complement the excellent performance of engine, such as Anti-skid Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assistance (EBA) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for suspension. While this new crossover also has passive safety features of three-point safety belts, six-airbags of two in front, two beside, and two curtains airbags. To minimize accident impacts for pedestrian or other people around, this car features pedestrian impact and reinforced safety cage. With all these complete safety features, this new car has received five star ratings or the highest rating from the Euro NCAP, the European New Car Assessment Programme.
