Toyota Avanza makes up 40% of Toyota Car Sales

Toyota Cars Sales in Indonesia by year 2008 reached 211,909 units, and 40% of it is Toyota Avanza, with 85,535 units. Toyota Avanza was firstly introduced in 15th January 2004. With an extensive research, good preparation, excellent price positioning, Toyota Avanza was successfully marketed and, until now, is the leading model within the Indonesian automotive community.
Toyota Cars Sales 2008
Since January 2004 until December 2008, Toyota Avanza has been sold more than 275,000 units. Even in the last 3 years, Toyota Avanza is still the top selling car in Indonesia.
With a right positioning and best valuable price, Toyota Avanza is most famous cars in Indonesia. Targeting market for Avanza is family young, already married, entry level buying car, small entrepreneur, age 30 ~ 40 years old, student/college (rich man son). But in development of market demand, Avanza is suitable for business purpose i.e. operational car, rental car, pick up service, etc.
Beside Avanza, Toyota Kijang Innova, a medium Multi Purpose Vehicle, contributes 24% to Toyota cars sales in Indonesia by year 2008. By deserve the title of “Kijang” as “Mobil Sejuta Umat”, its mean “Million User Cars”, Toyota Kijang Innova reached 51,189 units sales in year 2008.
Yes, if we ask to Indonesian people about which car you know and often see in the street, they will say “Kijang”. And second is “Avanza”. After that, they will say “Toyota“.
