Avanza sales still high, contributes 60% to Toyota sales

Toyota Avanza sales in May 2009 booked 8,538 units, increasing 16.7% from 7,318 units in April 2009. It’s mean, total Toyota Avanza sales in January – May 2009 period is 37,417 units, and makes up 60.4% of Toyota cars sales 2009. Total Toyota cars sale in January up to May 2009 period was 62,000 units, decreased -23% from 80,445 units in same period last year
Even in lower MPV segment, Toyota Avanza control 60% market share of 63,100 unit’s lower MPV segment sales. Avanza sales are far away from its competitors like Daihatsu Xenia, Nissan Grand Livina 1.5, Suzuki APV, and Daihatsu Luxio. PT. Toyota Astra Motor aggressive to promo various sales program to push sales number. With offer low interest rate as sales promo, until 3.5% for 1 year tenor, a Toyota Avanza sale is increase.
The second biggest contributors are Toyota Kijang Innova with contributes 19% or 11,716 units sales. In May 2009 alone Toyota Kijang Innova booked 2,488 units, increasing 7.4% compared to that 2,316 units in April 2009.
Furthermore, Toyota Rush booked 913 units, Yaris booked 657 units, and Dyna Truck booked 650 units sales in May 2009.
