Proton Exora will launch soon
PT. Proton Edar Indonesia, sole distributors of Proton cars in Indonesia, is now preparing Proton Exora, and plan to launch at Indonesia International Motor Show 2009 by July 24, 2009. After release in Malaysia domestic market on April 15, 2009, Proton Exora expects to get some “delicious pie” in Indonesia auto market especially in MPV market segment. Proton Exora is first MPV has been made by Proton, a Malaysia car maker.
In Malaysia domestic market, it’s competing with Toyota Avanza 1.5L, Nissan Grand Livina 1.6L, Toyota Wish, and Toyota Kijang Innova 2.0L. Proton Exora available in 2 variants, that M-Line AT (RM 69,998) and H-Line AT (RM 75,998). Both of them is equipped by 1.6 liter CPS engine with maximum power 128 PS @ 6,500 rpm and maximum torque 15 kgm @ 4,500 rpm.
Today, Proton Exora placed a teaser ad in several Indonesia newspapers again. Its make me curious. After see Proton Exora teaser and only see “a cutting pictures”, I try to call some Proton dealers and asking about its pricing. A sales person says Proton Exora will be priced at about Rp. 175 mills for MT (Executive type), Rp, 185 mills for AT (Executive type) and will not more than Rp. 208 Mills for Supreme AT. Its price is temporary price, expected price before and during launching periods.
Hmm…if we look a market segment in this price bracket, Proton Exora absolutely will head to head with Nissan Grand Livina 1.5 & 1.8L (Rp. 179 Mills ~ Rp. 241.5 Mills), Toyota Kijang Innova 2.0L (Rp. 198 Mills ~ Rp. 272.75 Mills), and Honda Freed 1.5L (Rp. 237 Mills and Rp 257 mills). By the way, Nissan Grand Livina manufactures in Indonesia and marketed in 2 variants, 1.5 liter and 1.8 liters. But in Malaysia domestic market, Nissan Grand Livina marketed in only 1.6 liter.
If we looks specification in Malaysia domestic market, Proton Exora highest variant (H-Line) is completed all safety features and pleasure features. Dual SRS airbag, Safety Belt with pretensioner, ABS+EBD+BA braking system, Parking Sensor, Integrated Alarm, Immobilizer, Leather Seat, CD+MP3, and LCD monitor with DVD+USB port.
