Ford release New Ranger and New Everest together by today!

PT. Ford Motor Indonesia release New Ford Ranger and New Ford Everest to Indonesia auto market by today, June 25, 2009. Its make market segment of SUV, Double Cabin and Pick Up 4X4 to be increasingly tight. After Mitsubishi launch Mitsubishi Pajero Sport last week, and now Ford release New Everest, Toyota Fortuner should be aware, since High SUV (Diesel Engine) will be tighter.

New Ford Everest marketed in 4 variants, XLT Manual Transmission (cheapest) Rp 323 Mills, XLT Automatic (Rp 338 Mills), LTD AT (Rp 353 Mills) and XLT 4X4 AT (Rp 403,5 Mills). For 4X4 type has a big different with 4X2 type because of luxury tax is higher.

New Ford Everest use 2.5 liter Duratorq TDCi Diesel Engine, Common Rail, Direct Injection, DOHC 16 valve with turbocharger. The turbocharger has a fan blade that can change the angle to minimize a turbo lag. With this performance, its has maximum power 143 PS (105kW) @ 3.500 rpm and maximum torque 33,7 Kgm (330Nm) @ 1.800 rpm.

The minor change of New Ford Everest such as: the design of Radiator Grille with three chromed horizontal lines with “Ford” marked. And for LTD type use 18×7.5 alloy wheel. It’s a first SUV in its segment use this tyre size.

New Ford Ranger available in 13 variants with price range from Rp. 224 mills up to Rp, 327 mills. New Ranger will head to head with Mitsubishi L200, Mazda BT-50, Isuzu D-Max, and Toyota Hi-Lux. New Ranger offer 3 engine type: 2.5L Diesel Engine, 2.5L Diesel Engine with Common Rail, and the latest is 2.5L Diesel Engine with Common Rail.

The 2.5L Diesel Engine Common Rail is same engine with New Everest. In meanwhile, 2.5L Diesel Engine (not common rail), SOHC 12Valves, Non-Direct Injection, conventional Turbocharge and equipped Intercooler has maximum power 109PS (80kW) @ 3.500 rpm and maximum torque 27,1 Kgm (266 Nm) @ 2.000 rpm. Besides that, there is 3.0L Duratorq Common Rail Direct Injection has maximum power 156 PS (115 kW) @ 3.200 rpm and maximum torque 38,7 kgm (380 Nm) @ 1.800 rpm.

The exterior and interior of New Ranger has been changed. The design of Radiator Grille, Headlamp, Air flow inlet in below Radiator Grille, Front Fog Lamp, over fender, and Tail Lamp is changed. And the audio is equipped by Aux input and ready for MP3 and iPod.

Since most of New Ford Ranger end user is Fleet Customer such as mining company, plantation, and others, PT. Ford Motor Indonesia collaborate with RMA Thailand ready to modified Ranger (or Everest) to be more tough and suitable in off-road field.
