Daihatsu Xenia sales in July ’09 increase 35%

Daihatsu Xenia, a best selling MPV from PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor, reaches 3,482 unit’s sales in July 2009. These sales are 35% higher than June sales which only reached 2,638 units. Its make the total sales of Daihatsu Xenia from January to July 2009 amounted to 22,031 units and contribute 55% to total Daihatsu cars sales in year 2009.

In year 2009, sales of Daihatsu cars have a great result. Despite Indonesia cars sales decreases -29% compare to same period in last year, the sales of Daihatsu cars only decrease -5% from last year. Indonesia cars sales in 2008 reaches 353,465 units while sales in this year only books 252,154 unit’s sales.

Meanwhile Daihatsu cars sales in January to July 2008 books 42,437 units and achieved 40,304 units’ sales in this year. With this sales achievement, Daihatsu market shares in Indonesia automotive market increase from 12% (year 2008) to 16% (year 2009).

Since its launch in 2004, Xenia has successfully become a family favorite car in Indonesia. With a variety of vehicles advantages as fuel efficient but still be reliable for a variety of family activities, Xenia comes with many features that further spoil the Indonesian family. Even in Low Multi Purpose Vehicle segment, Daihatsu Xenia grab 24.2% market share from 90,945 unit’s sales in this segment in year 2009.

Meanwhile, other Daihatsu product also books exciting sales throughout the year 2009. Daihatsu Terios sold 6,728 units, Gran Max sold 8,069 units, Luxio sold 3,066 units and Sirion sold 410 units.
