Hyundai cars sales increase 28%, 315 units in August 09

Indonesia automotive market getting better and makes the sales of Hyundai cars increase 28% from 246 units of July sales to 315 units of August sales. PT. Hyundai Mobil Indonesia as sole distributor of Hyundai passenger state that total sales from January to August 2009 reached 1,583 units and believe may achieve 3000 units until end of this year.
Hyundai Avega, the famous sedan still remains as the biggest contributor by 136 units’ sales in August 2009. So the total sales of Hyundai Avega throughout the year 2009 reached 708 units or 45% of the total sales of Hyundai cars. With competitive price, Hyundai Avega was a mainstay of Hyundai in Low Sedan segment. In Jakarta area, Hyundai Avega priced at Rp. 118 million up to Rp. 147.85 million (On the Road).
Meanwhile, Hyundai i20 the Medium City Car that launched in Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2009 books 71 units sales and 13 units of its is diesel engine variants. Sales of the Hyundai i20 are not optimal due to limited supply from Korea. And Hyundai i20 demand so far reached more than 500 units. PT. HMI expects outstanding delivery can be met in October and November 2009.
Besides Avega Hyundai and Hyundai i20, PT. HMI also has other good products, namely: Hyundai i10 (Low City Car), Hyundai H-1 (Big MPV), Hyundai Sonata (sedan), Trajet (MPV), Hyundai Tucson and SantaFe (SUV).
