Indonesia Cars Sales in September go down

Refer to compiling data from GAIKINDO member, actually September cars sales in Indonesia go down. If wholesales in August books 48,107 units so Indonesia cars sales in this month only reach 37,206 units or decrease 23%. Meanwhile retailsales in September reached 36,529 units while August sales booked 49,079 units (decrease 26%).

Wholesales is the number of car that deliver from sole distributor to dealer while retailsales is the number of car has been deliver from dealer to customer. The decreasing of cars sales because of the effective working day in September only two weeks while Indonesian people was celebrate “Hari Raya Lebaran (Holiday)” almost two weeks. This statistic is happen every year, and the sales will increase again in next month.

Based on wholesales data, Toyota still leads domestic automotive market with 129,486 unit’s sales or 38.4% market share. In 2^nd position is Daihatsu with 53,250 unit’s sales (15.8%). While Mitsubishi that dominates market with commercial car is in the third rank with total sales 41,928 units (12.4%), following by Suzuki in the 4th rank with 9.4% market share and 31,560 units sales, and Honda in rank 5 with 27,581 units or 8.2% market share.

Totally wholesales in period January to September 2009, achieved 337,470 units while retailsales achieved 341,885 units.
