Mercedes Cars Sales Increase 51 Percent in Year 2010
Luxury car market in Indonesia continues to grow and Mercedes-Benz has confirmed himself as the leader of the luxury car market in Indonesia today. Based on information obtained by the Indonesia-Cars.com, the total sales of Mercedes cars in national auto market in the period January to July 2010 have reached 2230 units. The achievement was up 51 percent compared with same period last year, 1475 units.

With the high sales of Mercedes-Benz is the leading luxury car market with a 68.6 percent market share. Sales of luxury cars of Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Audi, Volvo and Jaguar, achieving total sales of 3150 units in 2010, up 50 percent compared to 2175 units the previous year 2009.
After the Mercedes in the ranking of one, the other Germany car, BMW is ranked second with 21.5 percent or the total sales of 685 units. Meanwhile, Lexus is in third place with sales of 230 units.
Of all cars marketed by Mercedes-Benz, best-selling car is the E-Class sedan with total sales of 820 units, up 28 percent from 647 units last year. C-Class sedan to dominate the medium-luxury segments 74.1 percent. C-Class sales have reached 749 units.
S-Class assigned to the portion of 74.5 percent. These model sales grew 113 percent to 281 units. Another model which is marketed by Mercedes-Benz is B-Class with 48 units, 18 units of M-Class, 16 units of the R-Class and 6 units of GL-Class. In addition to passenger cars, Mercedes-Benz luxury buses also markets from January to July has sold 436 units or an increase of 64 percent from the previous year, 266 units.
Many automotive analysts say that the national car market in Indonesia is expected to reach 700,000 units in 2010. Therefore, Indonesia will become a very important market in Southeast Asia.

Mercedes Benz Dominance in Premium Car Segment
The position of Mercedes Benz as a leader of premium cars in national car market has more stable. Closing months of March 2010, Mercedes-Benz Indonesia was successfully controlled retail sales of premium cars segment by 68 percent with 847 units sold, up 44 percent over the same period last year sold 590 units.
In the first quarter of year 2010, the luxury sedan of Mercedes C-Class led the mid segment of premium cars with sales of 303 units or over 69% market share. Meanwhile, in the high-class of luxury sedan, the New Mercedes E-Class are not unmoved by the sale of 402 units or controlling 88% market share. BMW cars sales in year 2009 has increase 24%

BMW cars sales in Indonesia increased by 24% until the end of November 2009 and recorded a total of 811 unit wholesales. These sales have been over-year sales results in 2008, while still remaining one month in advance. This achievement is maintaining its position as a premium car with the fastest growth in Indonesia. In November alone, BMW Indonesia recorded sales of 133 units, increase 14% of 90 unit’s sales in previous month.
President Director of PT. BMW Indonesia, Mr. Ramesh Divyanathan said they are confident will be able to maintain growth rate until the end of 2009. He also said the appeal of the BMW brand and the models that they represent attractive very helpful to their business in Indonesia auto market.
