Japanese Cars continue to dominate national auto market

Cars sales in Indonesia continued to show a significant increase. After a decline of September sales due the Lebaran Day holiday, the car sales in October rose again. Based on the wholesales data (car sales from distributors to dealers), car sales reached 52,230 units this month, up 40% of sales in September books that only 37,206 units.

In total, wholesales from January to October 2009 reached 389,700 units while the total industry volume in 2009 is predicted to reach 430 thousand units, or down 30% of total sales in 2008 reached 607 thousand units. But if we look at the positive trend shown by the national car sales expected until the end of year sales could exceed the initial target and can be reached 460 thousand units.

Toyota continued to lead the national auto market

Toyota continued to lead the national auto market with 150,105 unit’s sales and controlling more than 38% of market share. In October alone, cars sales of Toyota reached 20,619 units and that means up 44% of last month sales which only sold 14,299 units. The October sales are the highest sales throughout the year 2009.

Besides won award the Indonesian Car of The Year 2009 from automotive magazine, actually sales of Toyota Yaris was also shown encouraging numbers. The wholesales of Toyota Yaris in October have books 1,072 units that increase 58% from 678 unit’s sales in last month. Totally, car sales of Toyota Yaris in year 2009 have books 5,979 units’ sales.

Honda Cars Sales in October 2009 increase 29%

Honda Car Sales
Honda cars sales in October 2009 increase 29% to 5,354 units of only 4,155 units in last month. The total car wholesales in period January to October 2009 books 32,935 units. This car sales achievement makes Honda still remain in position 5th in national auto market, follows to Toyota, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi and Suzuki.
