The 18th Indonesia International Motor Show open by Vice President
The IIMS 2010, 18th Indonesia International Motor Show was officially opened by Mr. Boediono as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. In this opening ceremony of motor show the Vice President also accompanied by several ministers as well as ambassadors from some countries. The motor show opening ceremony was held at the JIEXPO, Jakarta International Expo at Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The presence of Mr. Boediono, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, at the opening of the IIMS 2010 marks the Indonesian government’s great attention to the development of the national auto industry as one of the key drivers of the economy. Based on data from GAIKINDO, the Indonesian Automobile Industry Association, the national auto industry was ranked fourth as the tax contributor in Indonesia.
The 18th Indonesia International Motor Show would be held since 23rd July until 1st August 2010 or ten days. This auto show has a theme of “Eco-Technology Motoring” that the determination of the national auto industry players in Indonesia to produce eco-cars concept that are most environmentally friendly of all aspects from machinery, raw materials, equipment, technology, and exhaust emission levels as low as possible.
Therefore, through this auto show exhibition, GAIKINDO invites all car makers and automobile industries in Indonesia to continue consistently minimizing the negative impacts of global warming, through the application of eco-friendly car technology and fuel efficiency.
This 18th IIMS is attended by more than 200 companies, where there are 18 brands of cars and 4 brands of trucks such as: Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Daihatsu, Ford, Foton, Fuso, Hino, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Nissan Diesel, Proton, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota and VW Volkswagen.
To pamper the visitors and the car enthusiast, the organizing committee of IIMS 2010 has prepared a variety of attracting programs including Achilles Drift Show & Battle, Night Drag Race, Subaru Achilles Russ Swift Stuntman Show, Subaru Palm Challenge 2010, Miss Motor Show, BMX Jam, Student’s Day, Tour for the Disabled, Competition Draw and Coloring, Writing Contest for Journalists, and a variety of courses from Islamic Banking as the main sponsor of IIMS 2010. Moreover, the visitors who buy entry tickets and come to the auto show has the opportunity to get the Ford Fiesta and Toyota Innova as grand prizes, which would be drawn at 1st of August in the end of the closing ceremony of the IIMS 2010.
