Kia Picanto sales 2008 grow 57% from sales 2007

Kia Picanto sales 2008 in Indonesia increased 57% to 1,901 units in the January – December 2008 period compared to the same period in 2007 when sales stood at 1,210 units. With the sales achievement, Kia Picanto controlled 27% of Low City Car segment. The players of low city car segment are Suzuki Karimun Estillo, Kia Picanto, Chery QQ, Proton Savvy, and Hyundai Atoz.
Kia Cars Sales in Indonesia by year 2008 reached 3,880 units, and 49% of it is Kia Picanto, with 1,901 units. Total Kia Picanto cars sales since launch up to December 2008 are 9,199 units, and details as below:

Kia Picanto firstly introduced to Indonesia auto market by April 2004, as Kia Visto replacement model. Despite Kia is one of Korea Cars Maker, actually Picanto is France word; “piquant” mean hot, and “canto” mean dynamic music. Picanto is present “Cosmo Style” or “Urban Lifestyle”. Picanto is a city car, simple, practice, dynamic, suitable for urban lifestyle. Targeted market for Kia Picanto is youth, 20 ~ 30 years’ old, and urban people.
Kia Picanto to use 1.1 liter engine, Multi Point Injection to get high efficiency engine. Powerful but low fuel consumption. Kia Picanto claim 1 liter fuel for 23 km distance, in certain condition. As a city car, Kia Picanto passenger room is compact and spacious. Kia Picanto has ability to accommodate five passengers with 170 cm height. Even if you want to get more luggage space, the second seat can folding and luggage room will increase up to 60% from total passenger space.
