Kia release 4 new cars to National Auto Market in year 2010

In last year 2009, KIA cars sales achievements throughout Indonesia-national auto market record 3,195 units sales. Base on this sales figure sole distributor of Kia cars in Indonesia, PT. Kia Mobil Indonesia (PT. KMI) optimistic to increasing sales target to 5600 units or 175% from last year. This optimistic target refer to last three months sales of Kia cars has reached four hundred units per months.

To achieve these sales targets in year 2010, PT. Kia Mobil Indonesia runs a few numbers of marketing strategies. Besides remains to spreading auto dealers network to penetrate national auto market and increasing cars sales, PT. KMI also plan to release sveral new cars and product developments. In mid of this year, July 2010 at 18th Indonesia International Motor Show 2010, KMI will launch Kia Soul (hatchback) and Kia Forte (small sedan). Honda Cars Sales Target to 47K units

Honda cars sales targeted to 47 thousand units in year 2010

PT. Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) as sole distributor of Honda cars remain optimistic in this year 2010. After announcing a recall to repair in Indonesia over the production of Honda City 2007 to 2008, HPM announced a target of 47 thousand units cars sales in this tiger year. This target up 16% compared to 2009 last year which had recorded a sales of 39,570 units. Three line-up of Honda Jazz, CR-V and Freed will return to spearhead the Honda cars sales.

Toyota’s Record January Cars Sales of 19,459 Units

Toyota can not be shaken as the leader of the national auto market. In January 2010, the first month of this Tiger year, PT. Toyota Astra Motor as sole distributor of Toyota cars in Indonesia succeed to managed record retail sales of 19,459 units. Referring to retail sales data reported by PT. TAM, the performance of Toyota cars sales raised only 2.5 percent thinner than the position in December 2009 recorded 18,978 units. The largest sales contributed by passenger car with 18,229 units, or increase 1 percent from the previous month.

In the year 2009, PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor managed to rise to the 2 position of national auto market with retail sales of 75,169 units, but sales are down 2,294 units or 3% compared with 2008 sales last year recorded 77,463 units. For the month of December 2009 alone Daihatsu sales booked for 7,866 units and reached 15.4% market share of the national auto market.

Concerning the position of 2 and decrease the total Daihatsu retail sales over the previous year, Mrs. Amelia Tjandra, Marketing Director of ADM explains, “Achieving sales of 75,169 units is a proud achievement, because it still can be achieved in a difficult economic situation where nearly all of the total national auto market down 18%. However, the impact on the Daihatsu was so big; we experienced a decrease of only 3% compared to last year. “

Despite 4X4 trucks market decreased to 18% of sales in 2008 which amounted to 13,900 units, market demand for this vehicle model remains high. In the last year 2009, sales of car types 4×4 trucks / pick up, either single or double cabin reached 11,451 units or contributes 2.3% of the national auto sales. Although the international auto market, 4X4 pick up types are included in the commercial vehicle category, not the case in Indonesia.

MPV market increase to 47.5% from last year sales

2009 cars sales in Indonesia reached 486,061 units or decrease 20% from 607,770 units in year 2008. Despite decline, but some of the national automobile industry observers argue that this is the best achievement of the national auto market. Amid the world economic crisis that has not recovered, car sales had exceeded initial estimates by GAIKINDO that only expected to sell 430K units or fell 30%.

Refer to GAIKINDO report that received by Indonesia-cars com, seven-seater family car able to sell up to 230,990 units or 47.5% from total automobile industry. This figure exceeds the MPV car sales in 2008 which reached 230K units that only 38% of total cars sales in year 2008 (607K units).

Toyota Avanza remain as Best Selling Cars in 2009

Toyota Avanza is invincible and remains as a best-selling car in 2009. During the year 2009, from January to December Toyota Avanza able to record 100,065 unit sales for all models and types. Its means that Toyota Avanza dominates over 21% share of the national auto market, or 28% of the total passenger car sales in Indonesia. Total auto sales in Indonesia has books 486,061 units in year 2009 and 354,040 units are passenger cars while 132,021 units are commercial vehicle.

Besides Avanza, Toyota’s brand strength in the national auto market is also demonstrated by the success of Toyota Kijang Innova and Toyota Rush as one of the best-selling car. While the Toyota Rush, one of the major players in the Medium SUV segment is also ranked 6th best-selling car list with sales of units 13,000.

In the year 2009 had just passed, the national automobile market is dominated by Japanese cars to 95% of the total industry volume. While the remaining 5% contested by other brands from Europe car, America car, Korea car, Malaysia and China.
