Closed the year 2009 and welcome the new year 2010, BMW introduced the new SUV BMW X5 M series. This newest of SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) has equipped with powerful engine of 4400 cc, V8 turbocharger and able to produce maximum power up to 555 PS at 6.600 rpm.

Blown torque reaches 680 Nm at the engine rev range from 1,500 to 5.650rpm. Its new car also equipped with wheels motion system all-wheel-drive. BMW X5 M has also able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 4.7 seconds.

MR. Ramesh Divyanathan, President Director of PT BMW Indonesia said that this product is for individuals who like challenges and performance oriented. The high sales of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in November make this SUV into the list of best-selling car in this month. Based on wholesales data has received by Indonesia-Cars.com, the sales of cars in Indonesia have reached 48,329 units sales in November or decrease of -7% from previous month. Although total industry volume has been decrease, but some car maker enjoy increasing sales volume.

Like Mitsubishi, through its best selling SUV the Pajero Sport that sold exceed 1,200 units, PT. KTB has reached 18% of growth sales. By this sales achievement, Mitsubishi passenger car has into the list of best-selling car for the first time. No half-hearted, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport jump to rank 8 of top ten best selling car.

Meanwhile, MPV model still as the biggest segment in Indonesia cars sales. These models controlled about 60% of national auto market. Toyota Avanza is still remaining as best car with 8,847 unit’s sales in November while its twin model Daihatsu Xenia is in rank 2 with 4,497 units. In year 2005, the sales of SUV book 30,300 units or contribute 6% to total industry volume. In year 2006, the market share of SUV fell to 5% from total industry volume, and book 15,800 units’ sales. Afterward in year 2007, the sales of SUV increase to 65,400 units (15%) and in year 2008 increase to 99,570 units or 16% from Indonesia cars sales 2008.

The three of Livina (Grand Livina, Livina XR, Livina X-Gear) contributes almost 80% (25,2207units) to total Nissan cars sales in period January ~ December 2008. In this period, Nissan has been sold 31,881 units and controlled 5.2 percent of the Indonesia auto market and ranked sixth in the car market in Indonesia after Toyota (34.8 percent), Mitsubishi (14.4 percent), Daihatsu (12.8 percent), Suzuki (12 percent) and Honda (8.6%).

PT Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI), the sole agent for Nissan in Indonesia, said that sales of Nissan cars in 2008 increased by 12,851 units or 68% from the figure in 2007. Nissan cars sales in 2007 reached 19,030 units and controlled 4.4% from 434,313 units total industry volume.

The high sales achievement of Nissan cars inseparable from three of Livina. Nissan Grand Livina firstly introduced by April 5, 2007 and sales until December 2007 reached 13,606 units. Its make Nissan cars sales in 2007 jump from sales in 2006 reached 4,006 units with only 1.3% market share from 318,925 units total industry volume 2006.

In December 2007, Nissan launched Nissan Livina XR (5 seater) which use same platform with Grand Livina. PT. NMI reverts to launch new Livina variant, Nissan Livina X-Gear by April 2008. The three of Nissan Livina (Grand Livina, Livina XR, Livina X-Gear) offer to Indonesia auto market so that customer can chose which one match they expectations and need.

Honda Cars Sales 2008 in Indonesia reached 52,500 units or 8.6% market share. Its makes Honda on rank 5 in Indonesia Cars Sales by Brand, follow to Toyota, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu and Suzuki. And 47.6% of Honda Cars Sales is Honda Jazz, with 24,969 units.

Honda Jazz firstly introduced by PT. Honda Prospect Motor in February 19, 2004. The presences of Honda Jazz already stimulate sales volume of Medium City Car market segment. Here to fore Honda Jazz still as a market leader in Medium City Car segment.

Up to year 2008 Honda Jazz has been sold total 114,692 units. Honda Jazz sold 24,844 units in year 2004, 32,241 units (2005), 18,581 units (2006), 14,057 units (2007), and has been sold 24,969 (2008).

With cute and attractive models, complete feature, proper marketing communication strategy, Honda Jazz successful marketed in Indonesia auto market. And to satisfy customer expectation about compact city car and efficient, Honda Jazz has been change various time, i.e. feature, specification, engine, interior and exterior. A latest model of Honda Jazz has been launch in Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2008, on July 2008 with a new name All New Honda Jazz.

Despite All New Honda Jazz offers more expensive price than competitors, All New Honda Jazz still reached high sales volume. In year 2008, All New Honda Jazz successes to defend 45% market share in Medium City Car segment.

As well as All New Honda Jazz, Honda All New CRV become to the second biggest contributors and reached 17,800 units sales volume or 34% of Honda Cars Sales 2008. Sales volume 2008 of Honda All New CRV is growth 13% from sales volume 2007 has been sold 15,750 units.

In the meantime, high sales volume of both these models, Jazz and CRV, it makes both models success on Top 10 Indonesia Best Selling Cars 2008. It is fantastic sales volume.
